In the creative workshops the children speak English as they draw, paint, colour, make things or play a game

In good weather the group can learn outside, perhaps playing hide and seek, skipping, football or doing a treasure hunt

The workshops cover themes to help the children learn vocabulary and speak in sentences using theme words.  Example themes: introducing yourself; seasons; animals; my home; the classroom; my hobbies

In all our activities, we consistently use English for counting, colours, other basic adjectives, asking for things in English (e.g. may I have… ) 

As they become more confident, the chilren will start to create their own English sentences such as: ‘Can you pass me the blue pencil’; ‘This is a green car; My favourite animal is a tiger’.

After school club at the Josef School

On Tuesdays, at 14:30 the children stay at school for the after-school English club.  Children aged 6 - 9 (groep 3 - 5 ) can attend the club.  A maximum of 6 children can attend - with the possibility of increasing to 8 children in the future.

Creative activities and games are central to the learning in the workshops, and children can also bring their own games to try out with friends - but Playing with English of course!

  • For children aged 6-9 years old 
  • A focus on learning new words and speaking in sentences (and so naturally learning grammar)

€ 10,00 per child per hour.

School pick-up arrangement

On Wednesdays, Steve can pick up the children from the Josef School at 12:45 (max four children), and we walk to my house in Singelstraat, Muiden, for the workshop. Children are picked up from Steve's house by parents/guardians at 14:30.  Or the children can stay an extra hour in the home workshop until 15:30.

We combine educational activites with having fun, so that chldren improve their spoken English naturally.

Home workshop

On Wednesdays, your child can be dropped-off at Steve's house at 14:30 for the Playing with English workshop.  The workshop can last for 60-90 minutes, depending on your preference and probably other Wednesday club commitemnts! 

Our philosophy is to let children play and be creative,while at the same time practising their English.

  • Focused on practical use of English
